11.11.24 - Senator Jamie Eldridge Hosts Photo Op to Highlight Success of plugIN Program in Electrifying Communities

Senator Jamie Eldridge, along with local leaders and residents, gathered on November 1, 2024 for a special photo opportunity to deliver a $50,000 check from the Senator in support of the excellent work MassEnergize is doing to support clean energy outreach and decarbonization in the communities and towns he represents. This funding supports the ongoing success of the plugIN program. This initiative is a collaborative effort between Sudbury and MassEnergize that is aimed at electrifying households and communities across his district. The event showcased the growing impact of this program in promoting cleaner energy alternatives, reducing carbon emissions, and providing economic benefits to local residents. Sustainable Sudbury will be holding its semi-annual styrofoam collection @ the DPW building @ 275 Old Lancaster Road Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 8:30-12:30pm with Public Drop Off from 9am- Noon.
    These events are only successful with the work of dedicated volunteers who step up and keep our environment a little cleaner by diverting styrofoam from the waste stream and reusing it in other products.

9.21.24 - Fall Styrofoam Collection October 5, 2024, 9 am to 12 noon.

The Fall 2024 styrofoam recycling will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 9:00 am to noon at the Department of Public Works, 275 Old Lancaster Road, Sudbury. Clean, solid, white packing styrofoam only please.

Styrofoam Recycling does NOT require preregistration. Please bring your CLEAN WHITE SOLID packing styrofoam only please. NO foodtrays, egg cartons, cups, peanuts, thin sheets etc. Every piece recycled is a piece that doesn’t end up in a landfill! ... See full post.

9.19.24 - Massachusetts towns and cities embrace voluntary green building codes

Below is a link to an explanatory article about the state's Specialized Stretch Building Code. Most of our surrounding towns have already adopted or plan to adopt it and Sudbury's Energy and Sustainability Committee plans to present it as a warrant article at the next town meeting. The ESC heard a presentation about it from a DOER rep at their meeting last week
